Recreational Activities
Nothern Hess is very known as fabulous homecountry of the Brothers Grimm. Many of their tales play in this beautiful countryside. When you walk or cycle through the nature, you can feel the athmosphere of their stories. But also the real history had left many sights like Kugelsburg castle, Castle Waldeck, the baroque palace in Bad Arolsen, the park Wilhelmshöhe in Kassel and many destroyed villages around our city. The nature has much to offer in our region. For example the lake Twistesee is just 4 kilometers from here and can easily be reached by walking or cycling. Here you can go swimming, fishing, playing beachvolleyball or water skiing.
Find a mix of untouched nature, interesting history and pieces of Grimm´s fairytales.
